Josef von Sternberg is a realizer of cinema, born the May 29th 1894 with Vienna, under the name of Jonas Sternberg , and dead the December 22nd 1969, with Hollywood.
During a tumultuous Hollywood career, it was in particular the pygmalion of Marlène Dietrich. He wrote his memories in “Fun in has chinese Laundry” (translated by “Memories of a showman of shades”) in 1966.
