Josef Freiherr Alvinczy von Borberek
The baron Josef Alvinczy von Borberek (Freiherr József Alvinczi Borbereky in Hungarian) was born the 1735 in Alvincz in Transylvania and died the September 25th 1810 with Ofen close to Buda.
Soldier at the 15 years age, captain of pomegranates during the War Seven Year old, it is distinguished in 1793 with the head from a division during the battles of Neerwinden, the March 18th and with the Bataille of Hondschoote, the September 6th.
In 1796 it orders the army of the the Tyrol to replace the general Beaulieu, beaten by Bonaparte. After having obtained some partial advantages, it is overcome by Bonaparte the November 17th with the Bataille of the Bridge of Arcole.
In spite of a new defeat against Bonaparte with the Battle of Rivoli, it is named governor military of the Hungary and promoted Feldmarschall in 1808.
