Jose de Nebra

Jose Melchor Baltasar Gaspar Nebra Blasco (Calatayud, January 6th 1702 - Madrid, July 11th 1768) was a Organiste and a Spanish Compositeur of classical music .

Biography

Wire of Jose Antonio Nebra Mezquita (1672-1748), Organist of the Cathedral of Cuenca and Master of the Children of Chorus between 1711 there 1729, it received lessons of music of his father. His/her brothers also devoted themselves to the music and Francisco Javier Nebra Blasco (1705-1741) was organist in Seo, with Saragossa.

About 1719, Nebra became organist of the Monastère of mow Descalzas Reales with Madrid, whose choirmaster was Jose de San Juan. About 1723, it starts to compose of the scenic music which it sells in the theaters of Madrid. In 1724, Nebra is named second organist of the Royal Vault, but after the death of Louis I and the return to the throne of Philippe V, it became supernumerary. In 1751 it becomes vicemaître Royal Vault. As from 1761, he was professor of clavichord of infant gift Gabriel.

After the fire of the Alcazar Royal of Madrid in 1734, in which the collection disappeared completely from sacred music of the Royal Vault, it was devoted, with Antonio de Literes, with the composition. It became responsible for the Files of Music of the Royal Vault, whose inheritance will grow rich not only by works by Nebra and Literes, but also by the purchase of works of Francesco Corseli, Royal choirmaster at that time, Jose de Torres, Felipe Falconi, Scarlatti, Leo, Sarro, Farantino, etc

De Nebra, one preserved many masses, psalms, litanies and a Stabat MATER with the Archivo Real . For the death of the queen Bárbara de Braganza it composed a Requiem. He wrote a score of Zarzuela S, among which Iphigenia in Tracia and Viento are the dicha por amor .
