Jose María Sandpapers

Jose María Sandpapers there Alminana , born with Cadiz (Spain) the March 31st 1830, died with Lima (Peru) the July 14th 1872, was a Spanish Matador.

Presentation

According to the legend, Jose María Ponce would have been made matador by love: it was in love with a sister of famous the Banderillero S “El Lillo” and “El Cuco”; those would have required, so that they grant the marriage, that it is made matador.

He begins his career as banderillero, as it was the practice at that time, in all the places of Andalusia. He takes an alternative first with Madrid (Spain) the August 3rd 1856, alternating with “El Salamanquino” in the Lidia of four bulls of Gift Justo Hernández, followed that of four others of Gift Gaspar Muñoz, fought by Manuel Domínguez and “El Panadero”. The October 2nd 1859, it takes one second alternative to Seville (Spain), with like godfather Manuel Domínguez.

The June 2nd 1872, in the arenas of Lima (Peru), it is seriously wounded by a bull of the Ganadería of Bujama. He dies in Lima the next on July 14th.
