Jose Higueras
Jose Higueras born on March 1st 1953 with Grenade in Spain, domiciled with Barcelona, size 1 mètre78, is a former Spanish tennis player.
Large specialist in the beaten Ground like many Spanish, it reached the semi-finals with Roland-Garros twice, in 1982 (beaten by Guillermo Vilas) and in 1983 (beaten by Mats Wilander). He was world number 6 at 30 years in 1983.
He gained 16 tournaments during his career among which twice the tournament of Hamburg in 1979 and 1982.
He also gained the first World TEAM Cup with the Spain in 1978.
He was 6th world in 1983, his best year.
After the end of its career of player, it became coach with success. He was in particular the trainer of Jim Courier and Pete Sampras and, more recently, of Russian Dmitri Toursounov and Argentinian the Guillermo Coria.
