Jose Felix Estigarribia
Jose Felix Estigarribia Insaurralde (Caraguatay, the February 21st 1888 - Violas, the September 7th 1940) is a soldier and Paraguayan politician, member of the liberal party.
After studies of agronomy, it joined the rows of the national army in 1910, and follows a training of officer, with the Chile, then in France. Hero of the War of Chaco, it orders the First Division of infantry there, being successively promoted with the ranks of general, major general sergeant, then of commander-in-chief of the armed forces. However, this load is withdrawn to him after the president Eusebio Ayala was reversed by the revolution fevrierist.
Elected official chair for a four years mandate in 1939, Estigarribia takes up this duty starting from the August 15th. Less than one year afterwards, he dies in an air crash, in company of his wife. He is promoted marshal on a purely posthumous basis, and Higinio Morínigo succeeds to him the head of the country.
