Jose Burgos

Jose Apolonio Burgos or Jose Burgos (born the February 9th 1837 with Vigan, in the Province of Southern Ilocos, with the Filipino - died the February 17th 1872 with Manila, Filipino) was a Spanish missionary which was done carries it word of the Filipino natives at the time of the first anti-colonial revolution to the Filipino in 1864 and played a big role in the fast development of Filipino nationalism in the last part of the 19th century.

Biography

Jose Burgos was carried out after a sham trial in 1872 at the same time as two other liberal priests, the fathers Jacinto Zamora, and Mariano Gómez, by the Spanish colonists, following the mutiny of the arsenal of Cavite (January 20th 1872), which gave place to a violent repression of the revolutionary movement.
