Jose Blanco López

Jose Blanco López (born the February 6th 1962 with Palas de Rei (Lugo, Spain)) is a Spanish Politician , member of the Socialist party (of which it is the n°3).

Biography

After having obtained its Baccalaureat, it launches out in studies of right but does not manage to take down its License. He is married and father of two children.

He is elected senator of Lugo the October 29th 1989 (IVe legislature), and is re-elected the June 6th 1993 (Ve legislature). At the time of the anticipated elections of the March 3rd 1996, it decides to leave the Sénat and then is elected appointed of Lugo (Life legislature). He will constantly be re-elected (12/03/ 2000 and 14/03/ 2004). He is, since his last election, member of the Diputación Permanente (standing committee) of the Congrès of the deputies .

Within the PSOE

In 2000, with Trinidad Jiménez, Juan Fernando López Aguilar and Jesús Caldera Sánchez-Capitán, it helps Jose Luis Rodríguez Zapatero to take the head of PSOE at the time of the 36ème federal Congrès, which was held in July 2000 and which followed the rout of the Socialists vis-a-vis the preserving of Jose Maria Aznar at the time of the legislative elections of March.

Zapatero having been elected at the station of General secretary of the PS, it rewards Jose Blanco by naming it secretary with the Organization and with Coordination , which makes of him the n°3 party (behind Manuel Chaves González and Zapatero) and gives him the control of the whole of the apparatus of the party. He is also member of the executive of the Galician Socialist party (PSdeG) . He is to date regarded as one of the most powerful executives of the PSOE.
