Josée Chouinard , born the August 21st 1969 with Rosemont (Quebec), is old a artistic skater Québécois. She knew to captivate the heart of thousands of Canadians by her smile so much famous and her artistic services.

Biography

During its career among amateurs, she was some successes with the international level, in spite of an inconstancy which prevented it from shining in the great competitions. With the Olympic Games of Lillehammer, it had the bad luck to patinate after Tonya Harding which had stopped its performance for a problem of broken lace. Harding was authorized to withdraw themselves to change the lace and to patinate later; Josée was called earlier than envisaged on the skating rink and delivered a more or less ensured performance.

It left the rows amateurs in 1994, to return there to the autumn 1995. She knew an excellent performance with the competitions of the Grand Prix (3rd with Skate Canada; 1st with the Trophy Lalique). She qualified herself for the very first finale of the Grand Prix, where she finished third. With the championships of Canada of 1996, Josée tried to be qualified for the Championships of the world of Edmonton. There was that only one place of available at the women, and unfortunately Josée finished with the second rank.

She is turned over definitively in the professional rows in 1996. She took part in rounds of spectacles and competitions of ice-skating professionals. She withdrew herself definitively from ice-skating about 2004 to devote herself to a career of trainer and choréographe. She works, inter alia, with the Japanese woman Yoshie Onda.

Josée is married with the former skater in couple, Jean-Michel Bombardier. They are parents of twins, Fiona and Noah, since January 2005.
