Jorge Amado
Jorge Amado de Faria (August 10th 1912 - August 6th 2001) is a writer Brésil IEN of the modernistic school .
Born with Itabuna in the State from Bahia, wire of João Amado de Faria and D. Eulália Leal, Jorge Amado arrives in 1931 at Rio de Janeiro to study the right there. Its work, translated into 40 languages, generally shows the hollows of the black communities and mulattos of the province of Bahia where it almost always lived, if it is not, at the beginning of the Années 1950, two or three years of political exile in Paris, Prague and Dobříš, seat of the Union of the Czechoslovakian writers which accommodates it in its exile.
He is prize winner of the Prix Stalin international for peace in 1951 and of the Prix Camões in 1994.
