Jorat
The Jorat , area of the canton of Vaud (Swiss) lain between the Large-with-Vaud in the west and the Broye in the east.
It is a peak which leaves the tops of Lausanne to the south and is stretched in direction of Payerne in north. All that is above 700 meters altitude constitutes Jorat, it is a particularly wooded area.
In a strict sense term, Jorat includes/understands 17 agricultural villages which are:
- Carrouge,
- Corcelles-le-Jorat,
- Cullayes,
- Essertes,
- Ferlens,
- Froideville,
- Hermenches,
- Wall,
- Montpreveyres,
- Peney-le-Jorat,
- Ropraz,
- Servion,
- Sottens,
- Villars-Mendraz,
- Villars-Tiercelin,
- Vucherens,
- Vulliens.
In the broad sense term, one can still add to it more than one score of villages.
