Joost Vijdt

Joost Vijdt is a rich person Marguillier of the Midsummer's Day church of Ghent (15th century), become since the Cathédrale of Saint Bavon.

It is him which ordered celebrates it retable of the mystical lamb realized by the brothers Jan van Eyck and Hubert van Eyck. This Polyptyque, masterpiece of the Flemish painting of the the Middle Ages, is today exposed, in the Saint-Bavon cathedral of Ghent.

On the back of the polyptyque one, when this one is in closed position, the portraits of the silent partner, Joost Vijdt are represented, and of his wife.
