Joost Swarte

Joost Swarte , born the December 24th 1947 with Heemstede (Netherlands), is a Illustrateur, and a Dessinateur Dutch of Cartoon.

He is currently, with the Belgian artist Ever Meulen, one of the principal representatives of the style clear Ligne. Name which it gave to this purified style whose Hergé was the precursor, in opposition to the Style atom influenced by Jijé. It made evolve/move the style atom (characterized by the drawing geometrical and purified its decorations) parallel to the revival of the clear line. It publit its first album in France in 1980: art-modern the which made known it with the French public. Then, its many creations are done on various supports: postcards, portfolios, stamps, posters (of which lithographies), small pockets of discs etc In 1984, a work recalling its career, Swarte, out of the ordinary was devoted to him to the Futuropolis editions
