Joos

The Joos or Jéous is a left Affluent Gave d' Oloron coming from Barcus in the Basque province of Soule (Yrénées-Atlantiques).

Etymology

The name of Joos /jus/ derives from Jeüs /jeus/ as testifies some the name to village Geüs or the name given to its valley: Jeus-bag in 1328, today Josbaig “valley of Joos”.
