Jones beam
Hayes Wendell Jones , born the August 4th 1938 is a former American athlete, Olympic champion of the 110 m hedges with the Olympic Games of summer of 1964.
Born with Pontiac in the Michigan, Hayes Jones was rather small for a hurdler (1.78 m), but its speed, its explosiveness at the beginning and its nearly perfect technique him made him gain many titles.
Jones gained its first international major title with the Pan-American Jeux of 1959. One year later, with the Olympic Games of Rome, it finished third behind its compatriots Lee Calhoun and Willie May. Many believed that it had reached on this occasion its spade of performance.
It also took part in the Olympic Games of summer of 1964 with Tokyo, gaining there the title in front of its compatriot Blaine Lindgren and the Soviet Anatoly Mikhailov. Beam has establishes world records during its career, it was out of relay 4 X 100 m in 1961.
