Jonathan Demme

Jonathan Demme is a realizer, producer and American scenario writer, born the February 22nd 1944 with Long Island (the United States).

Biography

He is the uncle of the realizer Ted Demme.

Jonathan Demme discovers the cinema during its studies with the University of Florida, it deals with the relations of press for Ambassy Pictures, then United Artists. He collaborates with Roger Corman, at his production company New World. He writes and produced Angels hardware ace they as (1971) of Joe Viola before carrying out its first two films, Five women to cut down (1974) and Crazy Mama (1975).

In 1991, the Silence of the lambs mark a turning in the career of the realizer: adapted trilogy Hannibal Lecter of the writer Thomas Harris, the film reaches famous international and gains five Oscars. He is a defender of the human rights and founder of association Artists for Democracy in Haiti.
