Jonathan Archer is a character of the universe of fiction of Star Trek , and more particularly of the series Enterprise , interpreted by the actor Scott Bakula.

Biography

Jonathan Archer is the captain of the first “true” spaceship of Starfleet, the Enterprise NX-01 . Its mission is to widen the presence of the Ground in the quadrants Alpha and Beta and to establish the first contact with more than one dozen of species, like the Klingon S or the Xindi S.

Originating in San Francisco, he is the son of Henry Archer who continues as for him the work of Zefram Cochrane and which transmits to his/her son, as of childhood, its own passion for space exploration.

This is why Jonathan Archer enters to Starfleet where it reaches the row of commander before being associated into 2143 with the tests with a prototype designed to travel beyond the usual borders . He thus manages to push back the limits hitherto fixed by the High command Vulcan which he always reproached for seeking to block the technological advancements made by the Land ones.

Promoted with the rank of captain and profiting from the support of the admiral Forrest, Archer logically sees all entrusting the command of the Enterprise NX-01 when the ship is officially authorized to leave the terrestrial orbit into 2151 in order to carry out its first mission.

Jonathan is a large friend of Emory Erickson, the inventor of teleportation.

He becomes President of the Fédération of Plain Planets into 2185 and this until 2193.
