Jonas Mekas
Jonas Mekas is writer, Réalisateur, born in Lithuania in the village of Semeniškiai, close to Biržai the December 24th 1922.
Of 1944 with 45, it is interned in a camp of work in Nazi Germany. The October 29th 1949, it arrives at the the United States where it chose to be exiled.
Film producer, figure of the underground, it is also Critique and teacher of cinema.
He popularized the Journal filmed.
He is founder of the Anthology Film Files which he still currently directs.
