Jonas Binds
Jonas Lauritz Idemil Lie is a Norwegian writer born with Hokksund, in the south of the Norway the November 6th 1833 and died the July 5th 1908 with Stavern. He is regarded as one of the four Norwegian great writers of the 19th century with Henrik Ibsen, Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson and Alexander Kielland.
Biography
When Jonas is five years old, its family moves in the town of Tromsø, in the north of the country, where his/her father exerts the judging function. The landscapes and the fishing merchants and Russian, Lappish and Finnish fascinate it, it will often place them in the middle of its novels. Dregs follow courses of right to the university of Kristiania where it meets Ibsen and Bjørnson. He becomes lawyer in 1859 with Kongsvinger in Norway southernmost and written articles for newspapers and a collection of poems.In 1860 he marries his cousin Thomasine Lie who pushes it to write. In 1868, the couple settles in Kristiania and in 1870 appears the first large book of Jonas Lie, Den fremsynte , followed Tremasteren Fremtiden in 1872. The two novels describe with realism and talent the life of the men in the far North and their report/ratio with the sea.
Jonas and Thomasine live with Rome, in Germany then with Paris of 1882 to 1906 and visit Europe before turning over to Norway where Thomasine Lie dies in 1907, one year before Jonas.
