Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner
Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner is the chairman of Opera Software. He formed part in an original manner, with Geir Ivarsøy of a group of search for Telenor, the company Norwegian of telephone, where it developed a navigator named MultiTorg Opera. The project having been given up, Geir Ivarsøy and Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner obtained the rights of Telenor to exploit the software.
At present, Opera became very popular on the market of the navigators; and Opera Software Group, based with Oslo almost reached 400 employees (2007). The Opera navigator claims to be " the fastest browser one Earth" (the fastest navigator of the world).
Thursday April 21st 2005, it announced that, if version 8 of Opera were downloaded a million times in four days, it would cross océant it Atlantique to the stroke (of Norway to the the United States) while stopping just to take a chocolate in his mother in Iceland. The million was reached, and Opera Software announced that von Tetzchner would hold word. The official site of Opera reported them 25 and April 26th the attempt at crossing of the Atlantic of its chairman.
