Jon Edward Ahlquist

Jon Edward Ahlquist is a biologist evolution nist and a American ornithologist . At the sides of Charles Gald Sibley (1917-1998), he works on a phylogenetic method of Classification of the Oiseau X by the study of their DNA.

They work initially with the Université Yale, before leaving this establishment in 1987. They receive, in 1988, the Médaille Daniel Giraud Elliot allotted by the National Academy off Sciences rewards some for their work. In January 1991, Sibley and Ahlquist publish off Phylogeny and Classification Birds , known since under the name of Taxinomie Sibley-Ahlquist. This last takes its retirement in 1999 of its post of professor associated in Zoologie with the university with Ohio.
