Biography

John Roy Anderson was born the October 25th 1944 with Accrington, England (Lancashire).

Of 1962 with 1967, Jon Anderson is member of the Warriors , where he is singer.

In 1968, it publishes two 45 turns under the pseudonym of Hans Christian. It then joined during a few days the group The Gun , then joined the guitarist Peter Banks and the bass player Chris Squire within the formation Mabel Greer' S Toy shop , after having become acquainted with Squire in a club of London called Hunting .

During the summer 1968, the group is increased beater Bill Bruford and of the clavierist Tony Kaye and becomes Yes, point central of the career of Jon Anderson.

As of 1970, Jon Anderson lends its voice to other artists: one finds it on the album Lizard group King Crimson. In 1975, it sings on one of the first albums of Vangelis, Heaven and Hell , before joining the Greek clavierist more closely. Jon also takes part in albums solos of the musicians of Yes. In the Eighties, he will also collaborate with Mike Oldfield, Tangerine Dream, Toto, Kitaro… to quote only some of them.

Its first album solo goes back to 1976, it is Olias off Sunhillow , considered as one of its best. Its discography solo develops in the Eighties, but especially in the Nineties, where it publishes albums of any kind, pop, folk, new old…

Its collaboration with Vangelis, under the name Jon and Vangelis, gave rise to four albums of 1980 with 1991, but Jon Anderson and Vangelis seem to be scrambled about the contents of the fourth album.

In the years 2000, its discographic production decreases considerably, while it continues to traverse the world in vast rounds with Yes. Indeed, if the albums are sold less, the group is always success in concert. Jon Anderson carried out a at the end of 2006 round of a score of date in England in duet with the historical clavierist of Yes Rick Wakeman.
