Johnny Marr
Johnny Marr (of its true name John Martin Maher ) is an English musician born the October 31st 1963 with Manchester. Guitarist, but also Inputter, Harmoniciste and Singer, it is especially known for its role of type-setter within the worship group of the Eighties The Smiths. With the singer Morrissey, they formed a legendary duet of song-guitar. It took the name of Marr to avoid confusion with the beater of the Buzzcocks, John Maher. Its play of melody and harmonious guitar in referred for a whole generation of Anglo-Saxon musicians, in particular Mancunien No5el Gallagher, guitarist of Oasis.
After The Smiths
Since the separation of Smiths in 1987, Johnny Marr was member of other British groups: The, Electronic, The Healers. He also collaborated as musician or producer with, inter alia, Bryan Ferry, The Pretenders, Kirsty McColl, Talking Heads, Black Grape, Billy Bragg, Pet Shop Boys, Beck and Oasis. Since 2006, it belongs to the American group Modest Mouse and has compound certain pieces of their album We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. Johnny Marr always refuted the ceaseless rumors of a possible reformation of Smiths.
