Johnny Cleans , of its true name John Cummings is the guitarist of the group of American Punk-rock'n'roll The Ramones born the October 8th 1948, died the September 15th 2004 with Los Angeles of a Cancer of the Prostate at the 55 years age.

History

Before Clean

It began its career whereas it was adolescent with the group Tangerine Puppets with dimensions of Tamás Erdélyi future beater of the Ramones.

During its youth Johnny was Greaser style and was large fan of the Stooges.

Clean

They join the other members of the New Yorkean group representative of the movement Punk of the Années 1970: the singer Joey Cleans, dead in 2001, and the bass player Dee Dee Ramone dead of a Surdose in June 2002.

Their first album, simply titrated The Clean , leaves in 1976, with short titles, simple but percussion ( Blitzkrieg bop ) and meets a fast success. With beginning of the year 80 the boyfriend of the singer Joey Ramone leaves it for leaving Johnny of the relations very tended in the group and notemment a song " The KKK Took My Baby Away ". In spite of that their discography covers a score of albums until in 1996, year of their last round.

Death

He died the September 15th 2004 with Los Angeles, Eddie Vedder and Rob Zombie were with his with dimensions at the time of his death.

In 2003, it was classified 16th better guitarist of all times by the magazine Rolling Stone.

The film The Wicker Man of Nicolas Cage with which it was friendly and the song " Life Wasted" by Pearl Jam left both in 2006 were dedicated to him.
