Johnnie Johnson (born the July 8th 1924 with Fairmont with the the United States and deceased the April 13rd 2005 with Saint-Louis (Missouri) with the the United States), was a pianist of American Blues .
Biography
After having served in Marine U.S in 1943, Johnson goes to Chicago, then in St-Louis in Cosmopolitan Club where it engages a young guitarist named Chuck Berry, of which it will launch the career.It is Muddy Waters which enabled them to record at Chess in 1955. In the years 1960, Johnnie Johnson works inter alia for Albert King; it records its 1st album solo only in 1987 and plays finally under its own name, in particular with the prestigious Chicago Blues Festival.
It appears in the film Hail! Hail! Rock'n'roll 'N Roll of Taylor Hackford in 1987.
