John of the Pole
John of the Pole (1462 - June 16th 1487), 1st Count de Lincoln, was the oldest son of John of the Pole, 2nd Duc of Suffolk and Elizabeth of York.
His/her mother was the sixth child of Richard Plantagenêt, 3rd Duc of York and Cécile Neville.
During the last year of reign of his/her maternal uncle Richard III of England, it was indicated heir to the Throne. After the defeat of Richard to the Battle of Bosworth on August 22nd 1485, Lincoln was reconciled with the new king, Henri VII of England, but was quickly shown impatient to seize the power and supported for that impostor Lambert Simnel. Lincoln was killed with the Bataille of Stoke in June 1487. In November 1487, it was deposed posthumously. His/her brothers whose Richard of the Pole, taken refuge in France continued to avoid title of duke of Suffolk.
