John Winter (pilot)

Louis Krages , more known under its pseudonym John Winter (born the August 12th 1949 with Bremen, Germany - deceased the January 11th 2001 with Atlanta, the United States) was a contractor and racing driver German. He in particular gained the 24 hours of Mans in 1985.

Biography

Louis Krages began the automobile competition in the years 1970. For kasher sound hobby with its close relations, it decides to adopt the pseudonym John Winter . Prototype of the gentleman-driver (fortunate amateur to the blow of correct wheel), it disputes the regularly 24 hours of Mans and manages to register his pseudonym with the prize list of traditional mancelle in 1985 when it takes a lead in a Porsche 956 as a crew with his compatriot Klaus Ludwig and the Italian Paolo Barilla. It is advisable however to note that over the 24 hours of race, Winter held the wheel only during one large hour Sunday morning.

After having controlled until the middle of the years 1990 (in particular in DTM), John Winter hung up again his helmet and left to settle in the United States where it directed a company of toys. Mined by various personal problems, it gave itself death to its residence of Atlanta in January 2001.
