John Taylor (1704-1766)

John Taylor (June 22nd 1704 with Shrewsbury - April 4th 1766), English scholar.

It was named in 1732 librarian of the Université of Cambridge, became archdeacon of Buckingham and finally canon of Saint-Paul to London.

One owes him of the editions of the Orateurs attics (Lysias, Démosthène, Eschine, etc 1730 - 1757), and the Marmor Sandvicence , brought back inscription of Athens by the Count de Sandwich, which it published in 1743.
