John Singer Sargent

John Singer Sargent, is an American painter , born in 1856 with Florence (Italy) and died in 1925 with London.

It is particularly known for its ability in the portraits, characterized by a sophisticated style, a visual virtuosity and a certain theatrical audacity.

In addition to his portraits, John Singer Sargent left us very interesting fabrics of Venice: scenes of the city, landscapes, the Venetian ones.

He passed his childhood in Italy, France and Germany.

After having followed the courses of the portraitist Carolus-Duran to the school of Beautiful arts of Paris, it passed most of its career to London. The influence of its Parisian professor marks his work deeply so that these are the portraits which made it famous.

He attended a long time Monet with Giverny where he went several times. The two men went a mutual admiration even if Monet refused a long time to regard Sargent as a true impressionist.

Biography

Wire of an American doctor, it made its studies with the Académie of Florence.
