John R. Swanton

John Reed Swanton (February 19th 1873 - May 2nd 1958) was a American Anthropologue which worked with the people first of America in the United States. He is particularly recognized for his work on native-born people of south-east and the peaceful North-West.

He chaired the commission, founded by the Congrès of the United States, charged to establish the exact course of the forwarding of of Soto between 1539 and 1543, of which work The Final Carryforward off the United States De Soto Expedition Commission (" Final report of the commission of the United States in charge of the study of the forwarding of Soto") were published in 1939.
