John Peter Rhys Williams , more known under the name of JPR Williams , born the March 2nd 1949 in Bridgend (Wales) is a former player of Rugby to XV which evolved/moved at the station of back with the team of Wales.

Although it is victorious Tournoi of Wimbledon junior in 1966, it does not continue in the Tennis, privileging its studies of medicine. Thus it moves towards Rugby.

It is known for a very great competitive spirit. Ever beaten, its defense was pitiless and wild. In attack, its speed and its agility make wonder. It is also known for its solidity under the candles of its adversaries.

It belongs to the golden age of Rugby Welsh which gains 3 Grand Slams and 6 Triple crowns in the Five Nations tournament. It will not be beaten at the time of its 10 meetings against the English.

JPR Williams is the only player who gained eight Five Nations tournaments with Wales, of 1969 with 1979 included. He played in the clubs of Bridgend RFC then of London Welsh.

He takes part in the rounds of the Lions in 1971 in New Zealand and 1974 in South Africa.
