John Mensah

John Mensah (born the November 29th 1982 with Obuasi) is a Football Ghanaian or .

Biography

This solid central defender began his professional path with Bologna (Italy) in 1999. It will fly away in December 2000 with the Swiss club of Bellinzona which it will leave with the intersaison 2001 for Genoa as of the following year, it will leave its club for the Chievo Vérone. To the mercato of winter 2004 it will be lent to Modena, it will return to Vérone for the following season, and during the intersaison 2005, it will join the rows of Cremonese in Series B.

At the end of January 2006, John Mensah joined the Stade of Rennes in the form of loan with option to buy. Hardly three months will have been enough to convince the Breton leaders of quality to that which one calls the " Rock of Djiporta" who decide to make him sign a three year old contract.

In 2001, it is selected to take part in the Championship of the World Juniors (- 20 years) with his country. The Ghana will carry out a remarkable course there eliminating in particular the Brésil (with a goal of John Mensah) and inclining itself only finally against Argentina. It is the revelation of a generation out of gold for Ghanaian football with players like Sulley Muntari and Michael Essien.

Always with the team of the Ghanaian Hopes it takes part in the Olympic Games of Athens in 2004.

This same Ghanaian generation qualifies the country for the first Football world cup of its history and goes in Germany in June 2006 under the orders of its selector Serbe Ratomir Dujkovic. The Ghana will leave with the honors the competition at the stage the eighth finale, eliminated by the Brésil.
