John Mayall

John Mayall (born the November 29th 1933) is one of the bluesmen English (at the same time Chanteur, Harmoniciste, more Pianiste that Guitariste, and Auteur-compositeur) most famous.

Biography

Born in Macclesfield, a small village close to Manchester where it was rocked by the discs Jazz his father and was influenced by artists like Leadbelly, Albert Am, Pinetop Smith, and Eddie Lang (its bluesman preferred remaining J.B. Lenoir), it is put as of the 13 years age to learn the piano, then the Guitare as an autodidact. Deeply original, it manufactures itself its guitars and it lived even a certain time in a hut in a tree!

Before beginning his musical career, John Mayall knew a beginning of career of graphic designer whom it definitively left at 30 years to form The Bluesbreakers which remains the name of its group more than forty years after (today, the musicians are American).

At the time of the famous British Blues Boom English of 1963 this group proved to be a true seedbed of talents for the British blues by revealing innumerable musicians, and in particular the bass player Jack Bruce, the guitarists Eric Clapton (who formed Cream then), then Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac with the bass player of Bluesbreakers John McVie formed to him), and Mick Taylor (which returned to the Rolling Stones)…
