John Macauley

John Macauley was born in July 1866 in Limerick (Ireland). It is a player of Rugby to XV, which plays with the team of Ireland in 1887. It becomes later selector, then president of I.R.F.U in 1894-1895.

Career

National team

It had its first international cape the February 5th 1887 with the team of Ireland at the time of a match against the team of England within the framework of the British Tournoi of Rugby to XV 1887. He plays his last international match the February 19th 1887 against the team of Scotland.

The first victory of the team of Ireland with Lansdowne Road is the first victory of Ireland over England the February 5th 1887 over the score of 6-0. It is only the second victory in twenty-five meetings of the national team. Robert Warren is the captain of the team, Robert Montgomery and CR Tillie registers two tests transformed by Daniel Rambaut. John Macauley belongs to the team.
