John Lasseter (January 12th 1957 -) is a realizer and producing American of cartoon films and person in charge of the section animation of Walt Disney Pictures. He was before artistic director of Pixar.
Biography
Born with Hollywood (California, the United States), it gained at five years its first reward in a contest of drawing. It is graduate California Institute off the Arts, it is there which met his/her future colleague Brad Bird.Its first employment was conductive of boat in attraction Jungle Cruise with Disneyland. He works then as an organizer for Walt Disney Pictures (he works in particular on Tron) then like numerical organizer for Lucasfilm Computer Graphics Group , a division of Industrial Light & Magic. This division is then sold by George Lucas with Steve Jobs which re-elects it Pixar Animation Studios. John becomes the artistic director and supervises all films of the studio about it.
From February 1999 at January 2006 he was the vice executive president of Pixar.
In 2004 it was honoured with the prestigious reward " Outstanding Contribution To Cinematic Imagery" data by the guide of realizer (Art Directors Guild).
John Lasseter is currently member of the committee of the Oscars (Academy off Motion Picture Arts and Sciences) to the section cartoon film.
In January 2006, the Pixar studio is repurchased by Disney. John Lasseter becomes director of Walt Disney Feature Animation and artistic adviser of Walt Disney Imagineering.
