John H. Stevens
John Harrington Stevens (June 13rd 1820 – May 28th 1900) was the first resident authorized on Western bank of the the Mississippi on the territory which will become Mineapolis. It obtained the authorization to occupy this site, then forming part of Fort Snelling, in exchange of a service of vat towards St Anthony through the river. The house of Stevens will be moved on several occasions and will be finally in the Minnehaha Park in the south of Mineapolis in 1896. It is now a Musée.
Stevens was born with Brompton Falls, with the Quebec with the Canada. It obtained the rank of Colonel in the American Armée and took part in the américano-Mexican Guerre. It occupied various electoral mandates in the State of the Minnesota between 1857 and 1876.
