John Grisham
John Grisham (February 8th 1955, Jonesboro, Arkansas -) is an American author of Romance S legal and novels which describe the rural south of the United States. It is especially known for its novels which were carried to the screen, such as the Firm , with Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman, the business Pélican , with Julia Roberts, the Idealist , of Francis Ford Coppola, the Customer , Non culprit , the Master of the play , with Dustin Hoffman and Gene Hackman.
Biography and career
His/her parents are modest Baptists having had five children, John being the second. His/her father works in the construction and the cotton fields. After several removals, the family settles in 1967 in the small town of Southaven, of the county De Soto to the the Mississippi. Stimulated by his mother, the Grisham young person devours many books, of which those written by John Steinbeck, a model of clearness for him.
In 1977, Grisham is graduate in countable sciences of the university of State of the Mississippi. During its studies, it takes notes in a log book, which will help it in its future literary career. After having obtained a license in right of the Mississippi School off Law in 1981, it joint at a lawyer office working in the small town of Southaven. After ten years to be worked for this one, it becomes exceeded criminal causes, while being effective in the continuations with the civilian.
In 1983, he is elected as representing at the House of the representatives of the State of the Mississippi which he will serve until 1990.
In 1984, at the time of a lawsuit, he hears the upsetting testimony of a twelve year old child who underwent a rape. In its spare times, it starts to write its first novel where it explores the assumption that the father of the young girl killed the rapists. After three years of work, Non culprit is proposed with several editors, who reject it. Wynwood Close decides to accept it and to publish 5000 copies in June 1988 of them.
Immediately after the publication of Not culprit , Grisham starts to write the history of a brilliance lawyer coldly graduate which accepts the irresistible offer that a firm of Memphis makes him, not suspecting that this one carries out illicit operations. This novel, the Firm , becomes the best sale of 1991. Grisham produces from now on a novel per year on average, several being great successes. As from 2001, it starts to write on the rural south of the United States.
In 1996, Grisham successfully makes a return in the legal arena by defending a family whose father died following a rail crash.
The passion of Grisham for the baseball shows through in its novel more the intimist, last harvest , and in its participation in the activities of Little League in Oxford in the Mississippi and Charlottesville in Virginia. It also made missionnariat in Brazil. Grisham says moderate Baptiste.
His wife, Renee, like her two children, Ty and Shea, live with him in a house victorienne close to Oxford. It has also a plantation close to Charlottesville.
