John Fahey
John Fahey (1939 - 2001) was a Guitariste and American type-setter (it recorded at the beginning of its career under the name of Blind Thomas ).
It was one of the first guitarists to be played of the solos for the acoustic metal cord guitar.
It is difficult to classify it, because it was influenced by the American folk, the Classical music, the Brazilian music and the Indian Musique. In some of its last works, it tried out the dissonances and the noise; these last works were compared with the Concrete music and the industrial Musique.
It created the recording company Takoma in the years 1960, which helped to make discover guitarists like Leo Kottke , Peter Lang and Robbie Basho . In 1996, Fahey created the house Revenants Records which produces artists of folk and of Blues.
Fahey is also known for its talents of writer. He is the author of bulky articles where (amongst other things) he makes fun of the current music folk.
He wrote two books: Charley Patton , a study on the celebrates bluesman, and How Bluegrass Music Destroyed My Life (How the Bluegrass destroyed my life), a book of tests and an autobiographical fiction.
