John Dawes

Sydney John Dawes was born the June 29th 1940 in Chapel off Ease (Wales). It is a former player of Rugby to XV, which played with the team of Wales of 1964 with 1971, evolving/moving at the station of three quarter centers (1,78 m for 82 kg). He was captain of the British Lions.
Career of player
He disputed its first test match the March 7th 1964, against the team of Ireland, and its last test match was against the team of France, the March 27th 1971.It was six times captain of the team of Wales.
Dawes disputed 19 matches (including four test matches) with the British Lions in 1971 at the time of a round in New Zealand. It was 18 times captain of the Lions.
He played with the club of the London Welsh.
Career of trainer
After his retirement of player, John Dawes becomes the trainer of the team of Wales in 1974 and this until 1979. It is one of the periods more the records of the history of Welsh Rugby, the team gains 4 Tournaments 1975, 1976, 1978, and 1979 including 2 Large Slams (GC) in 1976 and 1978. He is also the trainer of the British Lions in round in New Zealand in 1978, but it is not able to renew the success of 1971.
Today he is the current president of the London Welsh R.F.C and he wrote several books on Rugby with XV.
