John Davison Rockefeller Junior (January 29th 1874 - May 11th 1960) is a Philanthrope and an important member of the Famille Rockefeller.
He is the fifth child and the only son of John Davison Rockefeller, one of the Americans richest of his time. He dealt with the Brown University and briefly joined his father in his business. During the Grande Depression, it built the complex of the Rockefeller Center, which had as a result to make of him the great landowner of offices of New York.
Although being a businessman, it is also known for its philanthropic works. It founded with other members of its family the Fondation Rockefeller and the Rockefeller University. It also made gift of the ground where is built the Siège of the United Nations. It financed the construction of a great number of museums of which the Museum off Modern Art as well as archaeological excavations in Greece for example.
It also carried a special interest to the protection of the Environnement. It bought and gave many grounds to American national parks.
The October 9th 1901, it married Abby Greene Aldrich, the girl of the senator Nelson Wilmarth Aldrich of the States of Rhode Island. The couple have 6 children, 1 girl and 5 wire:
Winthrop and Nelson were governors. This last continued the policy until being Vice-président of the United States of 1974 with 1977 under the presidency of Gerald Ford.
