John Connolly

John " Knuckles" Connolly , born the June 26th 1951 with Brisbane in Australia, is a trainer of Rugby to XV. After having in particular involved the Queensland Reds and the French Stage, it involves the team of Australia until 2007.

Connolly began as player (talonnor) from the team from the club from Brothers to Brisbane, then trainer-player of a team with Darwin of 1980 with 1982. The serious things started for him in 1983 when he became trainer of Brothers. Thereafter it involved the team of Queensland of less than 19 years and less than 21 years and the team of Queensland in 1989.

With the creation of the Super 12 in 1996, Connolly taken charges Reds with it.

It left then in France to involve the French Stage, obtaining a title of champion of France 2000 and a final of Coupe of Europe of Rugby in 2001.

Connolly briefly involved Swansea whereas Welsh Rugby was in full reorganization, it left then in Bath. It was named trainer of the year of the championship of England in 2003-04, the team of Bath being finalist of the championship. Bath was finalist of the cut of England the following year.

Trainer of the team of Australia

Connolly was named trainer of the Australia in February 2006, to replace Eddie Jones, following the bad results of Wallabies in 2005.

The beginnings of Connolly were crowned success with two victories against the England by 34-3 and 43-18 and one victory against the Ireland.

It leaves its functions at the evening of the defeat of Wallabies against the England in quarterfinals of the World cup (10-12).
