John Celivergos Zachos
John Celivergos Zachos is American born with Constantinople (in Turkey) the December 20th 1820. He invented the Sténotype which makes it possible to print a readable text of the English alphabet at the speed of elocution.
Biography
He is of Greek origin and settled at the 10 years age to the the United States with Dr. Samuel O. Howe. He is graduate university of Kenyon in Ohio in 1840, and studies between 1842 and 1845 at the university of medicine Miami, but did not obtain its diploma. He was the principal of grammar of the college Antioch with Yellow Springs in Ohio between 1855 and 1857. During the American Civil War, it is useful in the army as an auxiliary surgeon.He died the March 20th 1898.

He published various books and newspapers:- “ Ohio Newspaper off Education ” (1852): as an editor;
- “ New American Announcer ” (New York, 1852);
- “ Let us injure in reading ” (1857), injure introduction to the reading and elocution cut out in two parts: lesson of reading by Richard Greene Parker, and the second part by John Celivergos Zachos ;
- “ Analytical Elocution ” (1861);
- “ New System off Phonic Reading without changing the Orthography ” (booklet, Boston, 1863);
- “ Phonic To precede and Reader ” (1864).
