John Byron

The commodore John Byron (born the November 8th 1723 with Nottingham, dead the April 10th 1786) is a famous British navigator .
Voyages
It went on a first journey as of 1742 with the admiral George Anson in the Magellan Strait, where its ship, HMS Wager , made shipwreck (1741) close to the islands Chiloé; it was some time collected by the Alakaluf S then captive of the Spanish s.Il took part in the Guerre Seven Year old against the France then it carried out 1764 with 1766 a new voyage with the title of Commodore, explored the South Seas. He visited the Falklands, then the archipelago Dangereux, discovered the islands of the Disappointment, of the king Georges and gave his name to a island of the Kiribati.
