John Bidwill Edge

John Carne Bidwill is a British Botaniste , born in 1815 with Exeter and dead the March 16th 1853 with Tinana, Wide Bay, News-Wales-of-South.

It arrives at Sydney in 1838. It explores the island of the North of the New Zealand and turns over in Great Britain with plants for the royal Botanical gardens of Kew. It goes back to Sydney in 1844 and becomes the first director of the Botanical garden of the city. William Herbert (1778-1847) dedicates to him the Bidwillia .
