Johannes Cocceius

Johannes Cocceius , also Johannes Coccejus or Johannes Koch (1603, Bremen - November 4th 1669), Dutch theologist

He professed Hebrew and theology with Bremen, Franeker and Leyde, and imagined a system of interpretation of the Bible, which consisted in hearing the words and the sentences of the Writings in all the directions at the same time of which they are likely.

Its works form 8 folio volumes, Amsterdam, 1673.

Its partisans were called Coccéiens.
