Johann von Baillou

Johann von Baillou (or Giovanni de Baillou ) is a Italian Naturaliste , born in 1679 and died in 1758.

Its family is originating in the Netherlands. He studies the Mathématiques, the Médecine and the Chimie in particular with Paris. He undertakes to assemble a rich person collection of mineral, Fossile S and Coquillage S of which the number reaches 30 000 specimens in 1746. This one is then acquired by François I {{er}} of the Holy roman Empire. He becomes the conservative of his own collection in the palate Hofburg in Austria, function which he preserves until his death. He is member of the Academy of Science.
