Johann Georg Jacobi , born with Düsseldorf the September 2nd 1740 and died in Freiburg-in-Brisgau the January 4th 1814, is a German poet.

Biography

Brother of Friedrich Heinrich Jacobi, he was canon of Halberstadt, and professed successively the eloquence with Halle and the letters in Freiburg. He composed of the epistle S in worms, of the Cantate S, the comedies and the fables. Die Winterreise (Voyage from winter) is one of its most appreciated works.
