Johann Faulhaber , German mathematician, born with Ulm in 1580, died in 1635.
He taught mathematics with Ulm. It enjoyed to propose to the scientists problems which it believed insoluble: Rene Descartes, then simple officer with the service of the Germany, solved several of them while being played, with the great astonishment of the professor.
There is of him, inter alia writings, a Recueil of mathematical Recreations , in German, Ulm, 1613.
