Johann Daniel Titius

Johann Daniel Titius or also Johann Daniel Tietz (January 2nd 1729 with Konitz, Prussia (now Chojnice in Poland) - December 11th 1796 with Lutherstadt Wittenberg in Germany) was a German Astronome and professor with Wittenberg.

It is famous to have formulated the Loi of Titius-Bode. The Asteroid (1998) Titius and the lunar crater Titius were named in its honor.
