Johan Gottlieb Gahn

Johan Gottlieb Gahn (August 19th 1745 with Voxna (Hälsingland) - December 8th 1818 with Stockholm) is a Chimiste Swedish which discovered the Manganèse in 1774.

Gahn was student of Torbern Olof Bergman.

Gahn discovers into 1770 that the bones contain Phosphore.

In 1774, it isolates metal manganese by reduction from the Dioxyde of manganese.
